| Q. Do I need a partner?
A. No! Our classes are structured so that we rotate partners and everyone gets a chance to dance. We do encourage rotating in our classes. Dancing with different people allows you to become a better leader, follower, and dancer in general.
A. There is no specific dress code for our classes. We do suggest, however, that you wear something cool and comfortable. This is particularly important when it comes to shoes. It is important that you wear shoes with smooth soles versus rubber soles. For ladies, make sure you wear shoes that are flexible and provide good ankle support; flip-flops are difficult to dance in.
A. If you already know which class to take, you are ready to register online. If not, go to our CLASSES menu above to choose a class on the day of the week, location, time and dance level of your choice. Note whether the class is a series class or a drop-in class. If it is a series class, check to see the date of when the new series begins. After you choose a class, you are ready to register online. Registration can be done in person at any of our class locations on the first day of class or you can register on-line by filling out the Registration Form, no later than the night before the day of the class. Registering online will save you time from having to register on the first day and will reserve you a spot in class.
A. Group classes cost $10 per class or 8 classes for $72.
A. Even though our student's ages range from early teens to late sixties, most of our students are in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. Students of all ages are always welcome in our classes. However, Conga Room will only allow students who are 21 yrs. or older to participate.
A. Refer to the descriptions of each level on our Description of Classes . If you're still not sure, you can ask one of the instructors before class and they'll be glad to help you out.
A. The best way to learn how to dance quickly is by taking private lessons. For example, in one private lesson you would learn the equivalent of what you would learn in one month of our group lesson series. In other words, you can learn in one hour what you would otherwise learn in a month by attending one month of our group lessons. Private lessons
A. We take new students up until the 3rd week of the series. After the third week has passed you have the option of either waiting for the new session to begin, or, you may schedule a private lesson and an instructor will catch you up to the rest of the class.
A. Our classes are fun and the students are friendly. Over the years we have seen our classes grow with students of all ages and backgrounds, who are eager to learn and who are now graceful dancers. We cater to ALL levels, including the absolute beginner! Students not only learn to dance but also develop long-lasting friendships. Although Salsa is one of the most popular dances we offer, we specialize in all the other Latin dances as well. Our classes are fairly priced and the instructors are experienced competitors and performers whose passion for dance is evident in their patient approach to teaching. We offer beginner dancers many tools and resources to help them progress quickly in their learning.
A. Yes! Anyone can learn to dance! We have developed a curriculum that we guarantee will have you dancing in no time. It has proven to be successful not only in teaching people how to dance, but also in giving them the added confidence they need in just a few fun and easy lessons.
A. Our Beginner courses are taught as 8-week, progressive series. Our intermediate and advanced classes are taught as 4-week, progressive courses, with the exception of drop-in classes. Each class is 1 hr. long and meets once per week.
